This tutorial will provide a detailed technical introduction to both XQuery 1.0 and XSLT 2.0, and their shared language XPath 2.0. The XQuery section will provide attendees with a solid understanding of the syntax and structure of XQuery expressions. The discussion of XSLT will focus on the new features in 2.0, such as grouping, sequence construction, and user defined functions. Use of schemas and types with XQuery and XSLT will also be covered. Quizzes will be used to reinforce the course material presented in the slides.

Priscilla Walmsley

Datypic

Priscilla Walmsley is a senior consultant and Managing Director of Datypic. She has over fifteen years experience as a consultant, software architect, developer, and data administrator. She has held positions at RELTECH Group, Platinum technology, XMLSolutions Corporation (as a VP and co-founder), and Vitria Technology.

Walmsley was a member of the W3C XML Schema Working Group from 1999 to 2004. She is the author of several books on XML technologies, including Definitive XML Schema and XQuery.
